PAWTUCKET, RI, U.S.A., February 25, 2025: Teknor Apex, a global leader in the custom compounding of plastics, has successfully passed the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) audit by the certifying body DEKRA Audit (Netherlands) at its sites in Belgium and Germany. In December 2024 and January 2025, the company received ISCC PLUS certification for products under the Sarlink® TPV and Monprene® TPE brands.
ISCC PLUS certification covers a wide range of resources in the circular bioeconomy and was designed to ensure materials are sourced sustainably, with minimal environmental impact, while providing end-to-end traceability throughout the supply chain. This certification allows Teknor Apex to produce ISCC PLUS-certified bio, circular, and bio-circular attributed thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) using the mass balance approach. In this chain of custody methodology, certified and non-certified materials may be mixed and the overall volume and sustainability characteristics of certified materials in the value chain are verified.
