For applications where environmental impact is crucial, consider Monprene® TPE made with UBQ™ -- a bio-based, thermoplastic composite made from mixed, municipal household waste. It is highly recyclable and does not affect the recyclability properties of other polymers. UBQ™ offers a climate-positive solution towards a circular economy. Monprene® S3 CP-15170 BLK is made with 35% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, and is designed for a lower carbon footprint. Currently available in 70 Shore A and pre-colored black, this is a high flow material designed for injection molding or overmolding onto polypropylene.

Monprene® TPEs enhance the safety and functionality of common household items, in the form of a non-slip grip on a can opener, or an airtight seal on a food storage container. Specifically designed for parts which come into contact with food, the Monprene RG series already complies with U.S. FDA and European Union (EU) regulations and directives for food contact, therefore accelerating our customers' speed to market with new products. Monprene TPEs remain flexible at very low temperatures and also exhibit good high-temperature performance, making them safe for the refridgerator, microwave, and dishwasher.

From ergonomic grips on kitchen utensils to a flexible blender cover, MonpreneT PEs can be tailored to your specific needs, or custom colored to match the latest trend in housewares design. These grades are sustainable alternatives to PVC and silicone, are free of latex, phthalates, and BPA, and are RoHS and REACH SVHC compliant.

Monprene® can be formulated to have a glossy, smooth surface finish like vinyl, or Monprene can look and feel like rubber, with increased surface friction for a tactile feel and a matte surface finish. With manufacturing and technical resources in North America, Europe, and Asia, Teknor Apex is very competent in managing global projects, as well as supporting OEMs and their suppliers from design to commercialization. Teknor Apex has teamed up with global leaders in the consumer electronics industry to develop high-performance Monprene TPEs that are durable enough for repeated use, yet safe enough for constant skin contact.

These Monprene TPEs are resistant to staining from skin oils and household chemicals like suntan lotion and olive oil. In addition, these grades are UV and weather-resistant to prevent damage when these devices are used outdoors.
